I have a shelf filled with books on American history, and the ones I recommend most highly is Akhil Reed Amar's "The Constitution Today" and his equally valuable "America's Constitution". Whatever your degree of interest in our nation, how it actually works and how it was designed to work, these books will prove incredibly useful. Highly, highly recommended!

Second of his books I have read. I feel I am a better informed citizen. Articles regarding presidential powers to fire, separation of powers, and impeachment process are certainly timely.I'm sure there are others authors and books covering similar topics, but although generally liberal on social issues, I proscribe to the concept of originalist or textualist, which is the authors perspective. If one is uncomfortable with this perspective they may not find the book as enjoyable.

Amar is a quintessentially readable author. One would think this would be the driest subject and book on the shelf - au contraire!The author takes you on a rollercoaster ride of education, insights, historical contexts and contemporary challenges of our constitution.

I am not a lawyer therefore it is exciting to read a book that can bring across concepts from the constitution in easily 'digestible' wording. Personally I think it is a 'must read' when debating the relevance of and the way how to interpret the constitution in the 21st century.

Great book! The characters were so realistic and they were the PERFECT fit for each other. I wondered at first who could possibly break through Knox's shell, but Ema is exactly the woman he needs in his life. Knox is the perfect balance between man and beast. Highly recommended.

Loved Knox's protective and sweet relationship with his daughter. Loved how his relationship with Ema evolved. I recommend this book for anyone who wants a clean, fun read. It was hard to put down. So happy that Brig and Claire are getting their own book, can wait to read it!

Knox, the Beast,for the Texas Titan’s has a little 3 year girl named Shelby. Knox is very protective of her because of a past know kidnapping attempt. Over protective is a better description. Meet Claire, Emma, Brig, Mike oh my— let the story begin. Happy reading. Candy.

I was disappointed in this book. For one thing the word "Beast" was way overused! Knox was supposed to be so closed off,yet he spills his guts regarding Shelby in the first few words he and Ema share. Knox was easily manipulated by Claire and Ema,he was somewhat a wimp who had a bad temper. I never learned to like Ema,she was entirely too pushy and self centered. The timeline was beyond ridiculous,I know it's fiction,but come on!! First book I've read where I hoped the main character didn't get together.Cami Checketts has been a favorite author,I think I've read every book she's written,but this one was a major disappointment. I wondered if she even wrote it!

I cannot get enough of these Titans! Swoon! Sigh! And I love Cami Checketts and the way she mixes the perfect amount of chemistry with soft, slow falling in love! Knox and Ema are perfect for each other....it just takes them a bit of time to figure it out! Kept me up way too late!

Knox was a former military and now a star football star. He tried to stay away from most people but then he met Ema. But he needed to protect his daughter and Ema had a career. How could this all work? Great story. Lots of drama and complications.

This story was cute and the characters were fun. I had a little trouble buying the "beastly" theme. Otherwise, this was a sweet, clean romance.

I love the way Joe Bruno writes about mobsters, conmen and swindlers. The reason why I enjoy his books is because of the way he seems to ferret out facts about his subject that no one else seems to do. I grew up in New York City and while I was aware of some of the characters he writes about I never knew their darkest secrets and Bruno through a great deal of research he shines his spotlight or in his case his word processor on little known but interesting facts about all of the subjects he writes about. I have yet to read a Joe Bruno book that wasn't well written and enjoyable. Excellent job Joe Bruno.The Starlight Club (Starlight Club Series Book 1)

I bought this book for my teenage daughter for Christmas because she had borrowed it from the school library and loved it.Once she was done re-reading it, I had a chance to read it and absolutely LOVED it. It's the story of a young woman who is an artist and mostly introverted who has moved to a new home in New York City. The magic of the story is not plot twists but how unbelievably honest the story and illustrations are. Just as Ray Bradbury's Dandelion Wine captures the beauty and sorrow of growing up, this book speaks the truth about being an artist in adolescence. What it feels like to try to find friends, to be a friend. to decide to be more than a friend... The urge to make art, to hide one's art, to risk sharing one's art... And it speaks to other forms of art than just visual arts as well...I'm not an artist, but I spent a lot of time looking at the illustrations because of how much they revealed about the characters and - to be honest - sometimes captured feelings that I've had in my own life. This novel is a beautiful work of art and would be an excellent read for anyone who has ever felt introverted or wanted to be any form of artist.

I bought this book for my 11 year old daughter and she absolutely loved this book. She is very into graphic novels. I felt writing this review should come from the one who actually read it. She said the book gets you hooked and it's a fast read. She also said she would recommend this book for other people to read.

My 11 year old daughter loved this so much that when she finished, she flipped back to the front of the book and started over.The pictures are all in gray-scale inside the book, which surprised me, but my daughter doesn't mind at all.

Good book! Wish it had more to it. I also wish we could find out what happened with her best friend! Please say something if you agree with me!

I have an almost 11 year old with anxiety disorder. She see's a therapist, and that has been awesome. But this book was inspiring and thought provoking for her. It helped support her own ability to connect what was going on inside her, and has begun more conversations on what she feels, her triggers, and what's happening in her head. She now has her own drawing book to help her deal with her anxiety and social difficulties. It was something we used to do when she was young, but she had let it go, and was opposed to picking it back up. This book reminded her that it was helpful. Thank you, Laura Lee Guledge. This book was a huge gift to our daughter. I will also add that the illustrations are amazing, and tell the story of what's going on inside Paige. Great for ALL girls!
