I got this book to help my boyfriend exhibits behavior of a compulsive liar. It has no more information that what I managed to google. I understand this isn't yet a classified disorder but I would really like a book from a therapists point of view. This self proclaimed self help book spouts platitudes that are common sense. "You have to want to change" Well no way! Additionally, the book is rife with typographical errors such as three spaces between words and then one. Paragraphs are spaced entire paragraphs apart to make the book seem larger. I should have heeded the negative reviews but there are not many books on this subject so I decided to chance it. If you're buying this book to learn I suggest looking elsewhere and don't waste your money. If you're seeking help your best bet is a good psychotherapist. We don't have insurance so this was not a possibility. Best of luck!

Didn't read it. I bought this for my lying husband. It offended him. But made him want to get help. So I'm gonna say it's good.

Cute little book that does an adequate job describing different types of lying. But, an ultimate cure guide? Hardly. When it comes to the "cure" Caesar tells us to find a therapist. It is clear Caesar has a lot of knowledge and experience in this area. Why not share some success stories, tell us your thinking, what worked for you as a therapist. There are some tidbits toward the end of the article. I call this an article because if it were printed with a regular font and all the generous white space removed, it would be about 15 pages long.

Very quick read, yet informative and really gets to the point, giving the reader very valuable information. It teaches you about the science behind lying and pathological lying and gives you a strategy to help stop it. Without a path or strategy, I feel like its easy to fall back into the trap of lying. This book teaches you how to stop it for good. And a big part of doing that is to accept that you're a pathological liar--if you're in denial it'll be hard to change. Overall, would definitely recommend if this is something you struggle with!

This novel (more like a short story) is the "cliff notes" to compulsive lying. It's a quick hour read and it gives you "cliff note" type answers/insight to the array of problems lying causes. I think it's an excellent start, but by no means the end of your research. At $2.99 and for an hour of your personal time, I think it's worth it.I would recommend this to my friends, only if their exceptions (stated above) were well established prior to purchase.hope this helps.

I don't know how this is actually a book. Another reviewer commented that it reads like a sophomore psychology paper and I agree. I wish I would've read it sooner so that I could've returned it for a refund. I feel dumber for having read it. A compilation of "Yahoo Answers" might be more helpful than this... unless that's exactly what this is.

More of a pamphlet than a book

Short, simple, yet not that much full of informations which could be included on those blank places taking 1/2 of the page. Something to read if you are completely new to all of therapies and stuff. Personally I've been looking for something I can do alone, and the lack of such propositions is incredibly sad.

And the responses of the recipients keep me purchasing (usually for less than $7 each) more to distribute.An incredible true life tale with lessons for all of us.

This is an excellent photo and text over-view of the Endurance journey and the associated drama that followed its sinking. The photos are the key to this version of the story, giving something to the epic that words alone cannot give. I have long been fascinated by the Endurance expedition and this book is a "must have" to complete any collection of, or visit to, this story. The fusion of multiple versions of the story gathered from many different persons and the compilation of various types of data and historic sources also make this book a unique and special read. Though space and publishing would not allow inclusion of all available photos, one flaw might be that the author was not able to include more photos. I found this to be a great addtion to a Shackleton/Endurance collection.

This is a well written, easy to read, real life adventure story that took place just as the first world war was beginning. The hardships were imaginable. The crew of about 25 plus Shackleton, were basically marooned on pack ice and then a cold rock for about 20-months. It took a historic rescue attempt by Shackleton and two crew members to get help and save his crew, but the story is more than that. It's how The Boss (Shackleton) selected his crew and how he led them that is really eye opening.

The Endurance is simply excellently told, and with captivating photography. I was stunned the first time I read it ... and, it has been a re-read every year, twice a year (at least once per hot summer and every cold January) since that first page turner. What a company of men, led by a resolute and ultimately fair individual, can do is astonishing ... and inspires hope (and humility). You will wonder at the predicament and cringe at the odds ...and then marvel at what ... and how ... they overcome them. Then, suffer right along with those left on the island ...The book chronicles the 'refuse to quit on even one man' efforts of Shackleton, who struggled against unimaginable hardships in the most inhospitable place on earth, in an effort to deliver His men to safety ... from what must surely be an unavoidable fate.The journey will astound you ... enthrall you ... have you re-reading pages to try to appreciate the magnitude of the circumstance ... and then have you shaking your head in awe. These men WERE made of sterner stuff.Shackleton was not a perfect man, but ... a perfect hero for that very reason. Our world could use more like him.I encourage you to try this book ... it will change your outlook ... on many things.Q.

Shackleton was a great leader and deserved better than what he got from the world. I bought and read this book in a small paperback format. Had to get a larger format. Hurley's photos chronicling the ordeal are astonishing. Many had never been published. I bought this copy as a gift for an 8 year old boy, but decided to keep it for a few years. Some of the survival actions required are graphic. I felt too disturbing for young children. They are difficult for me to read. Caroline Alexander has done a fine job in association with the American Museum of Natural History. I intend to read more of her work.

The story is unreal and this treatment of the adventure is my favorite. Great pictures etc. if you love the Shackleton Expedition then I recommend this book highly! I read the entire thing in one sitting, read it thru the night like I was binge watching some Netflix! So I went home and bought my own copy.

Photographer Frank Hurley supplied some of the most breathtaking and dynamic pictures of the saga of the trip, one can only become overwhelmed with the enormity of the dilema. It is simply too real and too heartbreaking.This beautfully crafted "coffee table" book is one of many released regarding the extraordinary plight of this team against nature. Although author Caroline Alexander borrows heavily from previous accounts and repeats some of the adventures from her earlier "Mrs. Chippy's Last Expediton", "Endurance" is the classic adventure tale of the last Century.A wonderful coolaboration of writer/photographer, this makes a great gift. A 'beyond Hollywood' story that many have never heard, much less seen in this manner makes it extraordinary!
